Who is Dr. Kat Kosmos, PsyD?

Dr. Kat Kosmos (they/them) is a licensed psychologist through the Oregon Board of Psychology (License #3837) specializing in affirming therapy and psychological assessment for queer, trans, and neurodivergent individuals.

Dr. Kosmos completed their doctoral training and postdoctoral requirements through Pacific University with training emphasis in psychological assessment, ADHD and autism across the lifespan, and work with late-diagnosed adults. Their clinical interests include neurodivergent burnout, masking, minority stress, identity exploration, therapeutic assessment, and collaborative models of care.

As a non-binary and neurodivergent clinician, Dr. Kosmos approaches therapy and assessment through a lens that values lived experience, authenticity, and whole-person understanding. Their work emphasizes collaborative, affirming, and evidence-informed care that recognizes both strengths and areas of struggle within the context of each person’s environment, identity, and experiences.

In addition to therapy and assessment services, Dr. Kosmos also provides trainings and consultation related to neurodivergent-affirming care, LGBTQIA2S+ mental health, clinician sustainability, and therapeutic tabletop role-playing groups.

  • I believe that people are shaped by interconnected identities, relationships, systems, and environments.

  • I believe that healing is not about “fixing” people, but creating conditions where growth and authenticity can emerge.

  • I believe that compassion and curiosity create safer spaces for exploration.

  • I believe that strengths and struggles can coexist.

  • I believe that diversity in minds, identities, and ways of being enriches our communities.

  • I believe that care should reduce shame, not reinforce it.

  • Kosmos Psychology offers affirming psychological services that recognize each person as part of a larger interconnected whole. Through collaborative therapy and assessment, I aim to support healing, self-understanding, and sustainable ways of living that honor both individual experience and community connection.

I hope to cultivate spaces where people feel empowered to understand themselves more fully, reconnect with their needs and values, and move toward lives rooted in authenticity, mutual care, and belonging.
